Track attendance is down across the country.
And Canada, too.
We are reaching out and educating people in the area that Pacific Raceways has been quietly going through the process of applying to King County for approval of a major expansion. Pacific Raceways has repeatedly violated the existing conditional use permit. King County has not enforced the conditional use permit. We now have a website. Soos Creek right below Raceway
this creek is threatened by a culvert sending water directly into Soos Creek. The Raceway does not have stormwater drainage ponds
Drainage from Raceway directly into Soos Creek
This culvert is one of many, the Raceway has build "french drains" that carry water off the Racetrack and send it straight down the hill into Soos Creek. Not ONE Stormwater Pond holds all the runoff and contaminants from this Industrial Site

Letter from C.A.R.E
The hardworking folks at CARE wrote a very good summary of some of the history of the Conditional Use Permit (CUP). In their letter, they detail some of the issues with the CUP and the lack of enforcement of the CUP by King County. Pacific Raceways is asking for a new permit that will give them the ability to operate however they please, with little or no restrictions.
